Chinese newcomer Adora Cruises plans to co-operate with the Xiamen Port Authority and Xiamen International Cruise Terminal.
The agreement aims to transform Xiamen into a cruise hub, while further solidifying Adora’s calls at the port.
This was revealed at a ceremony to mark the first of the company’s long voyages, dubbed ‘Maritime Silk Road Discovery Journey’.
Another similar sailing is being offered in April next year, the company said.
The celebration of the first sailing took place at the Xiamen International Cruise Terminal, from where ‘Adora Mediterranea’ sailed for her cruise on 6th December, 2024.
She had around 2,600 pax on board and sailed on a 13-day cruise calling at Phu My, Singapore, Malacca, Kota Kinabalu and Manila, before returning to Guangzhou.
“The Adora Mediterranea’s ‘Maritime Silk Road Discovery Journey’ meets the diverse demands of tourists for quality, in-depth and cultural travel, and has received strong market response,” Adora Cruises claimed.
“We will continue to adhere to our commitment to the Chinese market and serve Chinese consumers, providing guests with an exceptional cruise experience.
“Xiamen boasts unique geographical advantages, serving as a crucial hub for the development of China’s cruise market and a long-term strategic market for Adora Cruises in the south,” the company added in a statement.
Adora’s collaboration with Xiamen includes not only the ship’s deployment but also supplies, training and cultural services, the company said.
